You’ve just gotten engaged – congratulations! A whole new chapter of your life is about to start, and you’re about to be faced with a lot of decision making about your wedding. Of course, one of the biggest things to consider is when your wedding will take place. Each wedding season comes with its own set of pros and cons, and our team at TBH has put together a list to help you decide. Here’s what you need to know before sending out those wedding invites!

Spring

Pros: Spring is all about natural beauty and romance. This season is all about rebirth, with fresh florals and soft lighting. If your dream palette is pastel colors and light tones, spring will serve as a beautiful backdrop for your photos. Furthermore, the timing during spring is very ideal for a wedding. There aren’t many major holidays, ensuring maximum attendance from your invited
guests.

Cons: Unfortunately, spring is also a very popular season for weddings, making it more difficult to book certain vendors and get the services that you want.

Summer

Pros: The long summer nights allow for a late reception and the weather stays comfortable during the evening. Furthermore, many of your guests will be able to get away from their responsibilities to attend your wedding, due to a more relaxed work schedule and a break from school.

Cons:
In most places, the summer heat might be an issue if you plan on having an outdoor wedding. Many people worry that it will affect their hair and makeup, and could ultimately limit you to an indoor celebration.

Fall

Pros: A fall wedding will make for cooler temperatures and less outdoor bugs and critters to disrupt your plans. With the changing leaves, rich colors and beautiful scenery, there are plenty of festive and unique wedding themes to explore.

Cons: A rustic celebration is one of the most popular concepts for fall weddings, making it difficult to book many barns and lodges. There are also fewer flowers in this season, so you may have to compromise some of your ideal floral arrangements.

Winter

Pros: Winter can be a beautiful season to amplify your wedding. The snowy winter landscape, evergreen trees and dimmed candlelight can create the perfect romantic setting. There is also less wedding competition during this time, allowing you to negotiate prices and have more options for vendors and venues.

Cons: You might find that a winter wedding does not allow for a lot of flexibility. The cold weather may force you to stay indoors, limiting your options quite drastically. Additionally, the winter months tend to be a very busy time for most people. Due to the holidays, popular travelling times and exams, some of your invited guests may be conflicted about attending your wedding.
